This song was inspired by the brave residents of Lahaina during the devastating wildfire on August 8th, 2023. It's a tribute to those who found themselves in the harrowing situation of spending the night in the water, clinging to each other for survival. The countless stories shared by friends and family who experienced the ordeal firsthand deeply affected me, compelling me to put pen to paper. Writing this song served as a way for me to process the tragedy and pay homage to the lives lost in the fire, while also honoring the resilience of the survivors.
